How the checklist works
Each visa subclass has its own template checklist. Tick items off as you complete them, upload documents to mark items done automatically, add custom items as needed.
The checklist is the main spine of your application. It's organised by category (identity, finances, employment, etc.) and tells you what Home Affairs expects to see.
Ticking items off
Tap the circle next to any item to mark it complete. If you uploaded a document for that item, ticking it links the doc to the item automatically.
Linking a document to an item
Three ways:
- Upload directly from the item — tap the upload icon next to the item
- Upload to the Documents tab, then come back to the checklist and tap "Link existing"
- Drag and drop a file onto an item on desktop
Adding a custom item
If you have a requirement the template doesn't cover (e.g. high school certificate, statutory declaration), tap "Add item" at the bottom of any category. Custom items behave the same as template items — tick them, link documents to them, all the same.
If your agent added items
You'll see a "From your agent" section at the top of your checklist. Those items live with your agent, but you can tick them off the same way. Your agent gets notified when you do.
